My baby is 6 months does he know his dad?

my baby is 6 months old does he know his dad? his dad plays with him and has always talked to my stomach when i was pregnant, but for some reason his dad doesnt think his son knows him because all he says is mama when he has been teaching him to say dada since he was 2 months old.
