How do you keep your toddler occupied while you cook dinner?

Activities while you cook dinner: give him some cooking things like a plastic bowl spatula whisk etc and let him "cook" you something on the floor or at a table near you/ play dough..... Have him make you something/ watch Elmo/ have something fun he does only at dinner time so he looks forward to it and enjoys it while you can cook.
